Drive to Ndutu - Border between Serengeti & Ngorongoro
This region is world-renowned for hosting the Great Migration calving season, making it one of the best places in Africa for dramatic wildlife encounters.
Between December and March, Ndutu becomes the stage for a breathtaking natural spectacle as hundreds of thousands of wildebeest gather to give birth. During this time, the plains are filled with newborn calves, creating an abundance of activity and attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. This results in some of the most thrilling and action-packed game viewing experiences you can witness.
Unlike other parts of the Serengeti, Ndutu allows off-road game driving, giving your guide the flexibility to get closer to wildlife. The landscape itself is stunning — open grassy plains, scattered acacia trees, and seasonal lakes like Lake Ndutu, which attract a variety of birdlife including flamingos.

This creates incredible opportunities to witness real-time wildlife action and predator-prey interactions.
Break for a picnic lunch in the bush or return to camp for a hot meal before continuing your afternoon game drive. Explore areas around Lake Ndutu, where you may spot flamingos, elephants, and a variety of birdlife alongside the migrating herds.
